Nonprofit Email Marketing Case Study


The Sugar Grove Economic Development Corporation (SGEDC) is an organization that promotes employment and business opportunities within the community. Their mission is to encourage retention, expansion and attraction of business that will provide an economic base and create job opportunities in Sugar Grove while enhancing the quality of life for its residents and business partners. This community organization provides assistance to new businesses in the Village of Sugar Grove.


The Sugar Grove EDC wanted to communicate their mission to the community while expanding their digital marketing presence. This non-for-profit organization aimed to drive traffic to their new website and remind local entrepreneurs, investors and residents that Sugar Grove is a sweet spot for growth. SGEDC’s Economic Development Coordinator selected Pesola Media Group to design and organize a robust email campaign. The goal was to create a professional, informative, well-designed email marketing campaign, all while driving traffic to their website.


Pesola Media Group created a series of email campaigns that were on-brand and incorporated pertinent information. Our marketing team developed a series of emails that secured the placement of the SGEDC as an approachable, dependable community resource. Email campaigns are published on a monthly basis in order to engage existing customers and direct them to the website. Custom-made graphics have been designed to keep the EDC’s look consistent across all platforms.

Over 3 months, the Sugar Grove Economic Development Corporation has seen:

  • Over 77% higher open rate compared to average rate among all American marketers
  • 90% of all website traffic is from new visitors

  • 27% increase in average website session duration
