6 REASONS YOU NEED TO REDESIGN YOUR WEBSITE
6 REASONS YOU NEED TO REDESIGN YOUR WEBSITE
Let me tell you a story…
One weekend, my husband and I were at a local hardware store and we were looking to replace our old kitchen faucet because we discovered that our old faucet had rusted out and started a slow leak. We went out and purchased a new one, brought it home, and began installing it. Luckily we were able to install the new one without a problem! Now I have a new shiny faucet that has all the latest fancy features!
What I am trying to say, similar to my old faucet, is that your website could be the source of a slow leak in your business. Even the slowest of leaks have the potential to create huge repercussions.
Here are 6 reasons why you may need to redesign your website.
Are your sales on the decline?
You may be scratching your head as to why you are losing sales. If you are noticing a decline in sales but don’t know the cause, chances are, it is your website design. Your customers are either having a hard time finding you, ordering from you, or trusting you. An update to your company’s website look and functionality could kill 3 birds with one stone.
Have you updated your brand but not your website?
Cohesiveness within a company holds strong value to a customer. For example, a great way to look unprofessional is to have your business card reflect something different than your website. If there is no cohesiveness then you run the risk of increasing the confusion and frustration of your customers.
Is your website mobile-friendly?
Unfortunately, it is not enough anymore to have a pretty website on a computer screen alone. Over half of all websites are accessed through mobile devices. With that, it’s safe to say you need a fully functioning website that is accessible via mobile devices.
Do you know what your website bounce rate is?
Numbers don’t lie. A high bounce rate is a key indicator that it is time for a refresh. A bounce rate is determined by the number of visitors that go to your website without performing an action. A few examples of performing an action are filling out a form, placing an order, or clicking on a link. Looking at your data, PMG suggests that if your bounce rate is over 60%, you need to prioritize a redesign.
Has your vision changed?
Just like people, a business can go through phases. If your business positioning or messaging has changed then your website should reflect that. You want to make sure you are attracting clients that are on the same wavelength as you.
Now, is it time?
Technology is changing every day and customers expect businesses to be able to keep up with that. If your website is outdated this can cause problems. Issues that are likely to lead to potential customers going elsewhere. Let’s be honest, Nobody wants that.
Bouncing back to the beginning with the example of my leaky faucet. Now with my fancy new faucet, I don’t dread doing the dishes. Okay, maybe just a little. If your website design is not working, it is time to invest in your company just like I did in my kitchen. Creating a clean and fresh design that improves the customer’s experience will help your company grow!
